As mentioned on one of older post, Affiliate Networks, marketing other people's products is one of the option you can choose in the whole affiliate marketing industry. It is easy, fast to start and simpler.

In this post, I'm going to introduce to you the view from the merchant in affiliate marketing. This means that you are going to put yourself in the position of the person who creates and owns the product.

You can choose to create any products to sell, and this could be software, physical products, consultation, coaching, and ebooks.

One of my first useful and trusted product bought is the Clickbank For Newbies EBook. This book is by Harvey Segal, a Clickbank reputable expert who had written many Clickbank Guides and owns 2 large sites which is the ClickBank Guide site and the Clickbank Success Forum.

If you are starting out as an affiliate marketer, you will be marketing and promoting other people's products to earn commissions out of referring customers which then converts to sales.

There are 2 ways of finding products and services to promote. The first place you can look into is directly from the merchant website. Usually, a merchant website is an online store where you will need to sign up to them informing them of your interest to join their affiliate program.

After submission of your application, you will need to wait for the merchant to get back to you upon their approval of your membership as their affiliate.

This type of affiliate program is owned by the company/seller and you focussed highly on promoting the products under their brands. Examples would be:

Another way of finding merchants is by going to affiliate networks. An affiliate network is a place where the affiliate marketers and merchants sign up as a member for the network.The network is to connect affiliate marketers to merchants by putting both parties into one place, which in this case is the affiliate network website.

You / marketers ---> affiliate network <--- merchant

There are many affiliate networks available and membership are free most of the time. It is pretty easy to join them and at most, you will be required to provide them your website if requested. However, it is advised against joining some program that require you to pay an amount of money such as deposit when you join.
